After a global catastrophe, a man lives in a damp bunker. His only companion, a doll, helps him while away the days. The man searches for news of the world, drifts fruitlessly along the radio waves, and cherishes the hope of meeting his family - his wife and son. The doll tries to convince him to abandon hope and act.
