Evangelia Samiotaki

Evangelia Samiotaki (real name: Evangelia Kalogirou née Sakoulas, 3 June 1935 – 11 March 2017) was a Greek actress. She was born in 1935 in Lamia. Her father was the folk singer Kostas Samiotakis. Evangelia completed her compulsory education in Thebes and then studied at the Drama School of the National Theatre. Her first theatrical appearance was in 1955 in Erotokritos by Nikos Hadjiskos. After graduating, she played roles from Attic comedies for 17 consecutive years, mainly by Aristophanes in Epidaurus. She was even Alexis Solomos' favorite actress in the role of Lampito in the play Lysistrata.
