Brad Nessler was born in St. Charles, Minnesota, and got his broadcasting degree from Mankato State University before breaking into the business in Atlanta radio, calling Georgia Tech basketball and the Atlanta Falcons through the 1980s. He moved into national television with CBS in 1990, then spent the better part of two decades at ESPN and ABC starting in 1992, where he became one of the network's premier voices: calling college football alongside Bob Griese and Paul Maguire, hosting NBA on ABC coverage including the 2003 Finals, and eventually rising to ESPN's top college football play-by-play role by 2009. After a run on Thursday Night Football for the NFL Network and a stint on Monday Night Football, Nessler returned to CBS in 2016, where he's since become the lead play-by-play voice for the network's SEC football coverage alongside Gary Danielson, a marquee assignment that's kept him one of the most familiar voices in college sports for over three decades.
