Padmini Kolhapure

Padmini Kolhapure is an acclaimed Indian actress, singer, and producer known for her contributions to Hindi and Marathi cinema. She emerged as a leading actress of the 1980s, with a career spanning four decades and over 100 films. Kolhapure has received multiple accolades, including three Filmfare Awards. Since 2024, she has been the Senior Vice President of the Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA). She began her on-screen journey at age seven, going from child actor to heroine at 17. Her early works include Zindagi (1976) and Dream Girl (1977). She had her breakthrough with Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978) as young Roopa. Born into a Marathi-Konkani family, she is the second of three daughters to musician Pandharinath Kolhapure. Her great-aunts are Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle.
