He is known for his role as Vince Noir in The Mighty Boosh, which he co-writes with comedy partner Julian Barratt and role as team captain on music panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks. In 2017, he became one of the hosts of The Great British Bake Off, and maintains the position to date.
