Areti raises her teenage daughter, Irene, alone. Their relationship is difficult. Areti's overprotection suffocates Irene, who looks for ways to escape. An innocent lie causes Irene to end up in the hospital, badly beaten and raped. Areti then literally locks Irene in the house. And as the days go by, things get worse. The house becomes a prison and inaccessible to others. Areti even goes so far as to commit crime in order to protect her daughter from anyone she considers dangerous.
