To avoid issuing wrong judgements, Michio Iruma seeks out the truth in cases by performing on-site inspections by himself. Due to this, lawyers and prosecutors are afraid of him.
Michio Iruma is a quirky, former lawyer turned judge at the Tokyo District Court's Ichikei. He is known for his unconventional methods and thorough investigations. Sakama Chizuru, a straight-laced, elite judge, joins Ichikei to improve its performance. Their first case together involves investigating the truth behind an assault case linked to a suspicious suicide.
