Plus, the possibility of nuclear apocalypse, as portrayed in works including Herman Kahn's On Thermonuclear War, Stanley Kubrick's Dr Strangelove, Sidney Lumet's Fail Safe, Nevil Shute's On the Beach and Peter Watkins' The War Game.
