The caravan with participants travels through Norway, Sweden and Finland. The starting point is the rugged coast of Spitsbergen. Helicopters, boats, and snowmobiles are means of transportation that are used. The high mountains, glaciers, cold caves and rivers demand the utmost from the participants. Not only physical strength is important, psychology and strategy also play an important role. In addition to individual tests, often related to the local customs and culture of Lapland, there are also group assignments. Both the individual performance and the team play determine the position of the candidates in the ranking every week. That ranking can change considerably in each episode. Each episode, the two lowest-positioned contestants have to decide against each other who should leave the adventure series. In the end, only two candidates reach the end point after a gruelling journey of twenty days, one of them wins the Arctic Circle Expedition.
In de vierde aflevering wordt de behendigheid en snelheid van de kandidaten op de proef gesteld. De acht overgebleven kandidaten zijn in het noorden van Noorwegen, waar ze de Rundfjellet moeten beklimmen, een berg van bijna duizend meter hoog. Ze zitten met touwen aan elkaar vast om het laatste, steile deel van deze berg te bedwingen. De kandidaten gaan tot het uiterste... In de individuele proef draait alles om water en vuur. De vraag is wie er als eerste in slaagt een drijvende vuurkorf in lichterlaaie te zetten. De twee kandidaten met het minste prijzengeld aan het eind van de uitzending, gaan een zenuwslopend duel aan om in het spel te blijven. De winnaar van de battle krijgt €1000,-. Wie gaat er deze week naar huis? Lyngseidet Lyngseidet is een plaats in de Noorse gemeente Lyngen, provincie Troms. Het telt circa 900 inwoners en heeft een oppervlakte van 0,99 km². Lyngseidet ligt op 15 km ten noorden van het dorp Furuflaten en 12 km met de veerboot vanaf Olderdalen, in Kåfjord.
