A mini-series based on true events that addresses heavy social issues such as domestic violence, femicide, and the inefficiency of the system in protecting victims. When Milka happens to meet Jakša, their romantic love quickly turns into a nightmare after marriage. Jakša views marriage as complete ownership over a woman – controlling her time, making decisions for her, and tracking her every step. Milka finds herself trapped in a cycle of psychological and physical abuse. When she decides to fight for her freedom, she clashes with a slow and often ineffective state apparatus that reacts too late to protect the victim.

Ep 1Episode 1
Jakša and Milka meet, Jakša accepts Milka's son from her first marriage, and then they get married. Jakša takes control over Milka and her life, and any everyday situation can become a source of conflict. Milka's life unfolds under the constant threat of violence.
Ep 2Episode 2
Despite the support of his mother and sister, Jakša displays dominance over women. Social services and the police have limited avenues to help, and Milka often feels lost in the bureaucratic procedures. The real-life protagonists occasionally intervene during filming due to the depiction of events.
Ep 3Episode 3
Although the marriage is formally divorced, Jakša details to exert pressure and demonstrate violence towards Milka and the child. Milka seeks help in a psychodrama group, but the problems continue. After Jakša violates the restraining order and causes an incident, he ends up in prison.
Ep 4Episode 4
Jakša is released from prison early, which once again brings fear and violence to Milka. The real-life protagonists take on roles to depict the actual events. Filming with actors is organized again, Jakša is arrested, and Milka counts down the days until his release and a potential new cycle of violence.
